The group stages of the 2007/2008 UEFA Champions League saw 32 of the finest clubs in Europe attempt to qualify for the knockout rounds of the tournament by topping their respective groups. Clubs played in a series of round-robin games, with the top two clubs in each group progressing to the first knockout round.

The 2007/2008 UEFA Champions League Group Stage results produced few surprises with the following clubs qualifying from each group:

Group A:  FC Porto (11 pts),  Liverpool (10 pts)
Group B:  Chelsea (12 pts), FC Schalke (8 pts)
Group C: Real Madrid (11 pts), Olympiacos (11 pts)
Group D: AC Milan (13 pts), Celtic (9 pts)
Group E: Barcelona (14 pts),  Lyon (12 pts)
Group F:  Manchester United (16 pts), Roma (11 pts)
Group G:  Inter Milan (15 pts), Fenerbahce (11 pts)
Group H:  Sevilla (15 pts), Arsenal (13 pts)

2007/2008 UEFA Champions League First Knockout Round

2007/2008 Champions League results from the first knockout round saw some of the star performers from the group stages make untimely exits from the competition. Each team participated in a two-legged home and away tie, with the aggregate winner progressing to the quarterfinals. The eight teams to progress were:

The quarterfinals saw some unfamiliar club names on the fixture list, with both FC Schalke and Fenerbahce on the verge of making history at the 2007/2008 UEFA Champions League. Clubs contested another round of two-legged home and away ties, with the aggregate winners progressing through to the semi-finals.
