Crespo wants Inter exit
Inter Milan's Argentinean striker Hernan Crespo may be on the verge of leaving the club after being omitted for the Champions League squad by new manager Jose Mourinho.
While Crespo has missed out on the transfer window that closed on Monday, he is reported to be looking for a place at AS Roma. Crespo had previously been linked to Palermo and Sampdoria.
"Hernan has always liked Roma and he was very close to moving there when he was at Chelsea," Crespose's agent Fernando Hidalgo said on radio this week. "He spoke to the Giallorossi then but they couldn't reach an agreement.
Milan club director Marco Branca has since come out in support of Inter's decision to leave Crespo out of their European campaign.
“Crespo knows perfectly well the respect and admiration he has here with us,” Branca said in a statement earlier this week. “It's a technical decision and it has to be respected. That doesn't take away our great respect by Inter towards him.”
According to Hidalgo, Crespo will be trying to get as much domestic game time as possible with Inter before making an attempt to join up with AS Roma during the winter transfer window.
