Robinho pledges future to Manchester City
Manchester City's star striker, Robinho, has ended speculation over his future at the Premier League club, pledging his future to his team and promising to do his best to help them reach the pinnacle of European football.
“I hope to play here for many years," he told the Daily Star Sunday. "I hope to make history at this club and become one of the great heroes at Manchester City. I'm in a very good phase and I hope this will continue.”
Robinho is expected to be joined by several additional world class players when the transfer window opens in Januray and Manchester City is able to flex its newfound financial muscle for the first time since being taken over by the Abu Dhabi United Group.
“I came to City because I saw them growing and making progress,” Robinho continued. "Can they be as big as Real Madrid? I hope so, yes."
One of City's more ambitious transfer targets is Robinho's strike-partner in the Brazilian team, Kaka, who is currently plying his trade at AC Milan.
“Kaka's a great player and a great person," Robinho said of his Brazil teammate. "He's so strong, intelligent and fast. Obviously I'm hoping that I can play with him here at City."
