GROUP H
Arsenal FC
The current form team in the English Premier League has never won the Champions League despite its illustrious history and enormous financial resources. The 2007/2008 UEFA Champions League presents the club with an excellent opportunity to claim the elusive title thanks to a draw which has seen the Gunners pooled with weaker opponents.
Arsenal's financial resources mean the club has access to the finest players in the world. The current team features several world-class athletes including forward Emmanuel Adebayo and Brazilian midfielder Denílson. The team is captained by French international William Gallas.
SK Slavia Prague
Czech clubs have traditionally struggled to replicate the form of their national team into success on the European club stage. Czech league runners-up Slavia Prague will have a chance to reverse this trend after being drawn in one of the most open groups in the 2007/2007 Champions League.
Unlike many of their competitors the Czech club fields a squad composed mostly of home-grown talent. Performances by talented youngsters Marek Suchý and Dušan Švento saw Slavia Prague achieve the impressive feat of beating former champions Ajax Amsterdam 3-1 in the third qualifying round.
Sevilla FC
Reigning UEFA Cup champions Sevilla finished third in La Liga, and will be counting themselves lucky to be placed in a group that offers them an excellent chance of advancing to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Sevilla has an excellent international team that appears capable of winning consistently at the highest level, and has proved virtually unbeatable at home. Standout players are Malian Frederick Canoute, Brazilian attacking midfielder Renato and Italian forward Enzo Maresca.
FC Steaua Bucure?ti
Romania's top team is likely to find the going tough in Group H, with their tie against Slavia Prague offering the best prospects for points. The 23-time Romanian champions have not won a European trophy since the 1980s, and their recent fixtures have been plagued by crowd violence and hooliganism.
The Steaua Bucure?ti squad features only three foreign players and relies on signing the top emerging talent in Romania. Nicolae Dic? is Steaua Bucure?ti's most prolific goal scorer and is recognised for his brilliant goal scoring ability off free kicks. The club is captained by versatile midfielder Mirel R?doi, who is rumoured to be one the highest paid footballers in Romania.
